
As you are aware, the number of H1N1 (Swine flu) cases have increased in the last few days. People should also taken steps to minimize any impact of swine flu at their home as well as in their offices. The purpose of this memo is to create general awareness and advise measures that need to be taken if a situation arises.
Symptoms: Fever, cough, cold, body ache, headache, vomiting, diarrhea
Office members who have flu symptoms should do the following:
1. First contact your local physician
2. Do not rush to the approved government hospitals for tests etc. until
advised by your physician
3. Notify the Crisis management team of your city/locality/office/ state
4. Stay home and NOT come to work until fully recovered (you should work
from home if need be).
Good hygiene practices are the principle methods used to protect against and delay the spread of flu. The following measures are advise to practice :
Steps you can take for flu prevention:
Avoid close contact : Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick,
keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.
Stay home when you are sick : If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. You will help prevent others from catching your illness.
Cover your mouth and nose : Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.
Clean your hands : Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth : Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
Practice other good health habits : Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
Though H1N1 virus is a deadly virus but it is curable. As of now, only government authorized hospitals are permitted for treatment of swine flu.
