The Drishtee Health team currently has a pilot project in conjunction with Honeywell systems is testing out a new technology for testing patient diagnostics. Currently it is being used by women health kiosk operators, known as Drishtee Health Franchisees or DHF, at their daily patient consults and weekly DR clinics. Just last week there were the two Doctor tele-consults, the first ever record in DHF history!
Drishtee has also begun hosting specialized health camps in order to provide both education awareness to villagers on key health topics, access to specialized doctors, and socialization of the DHF and her services. To date, Drishtee has organized a dental health camp in Mathura in UP. There was an exciting turn out of 71 patients who had check-ups and partial treatments. The camp was completed through the partnership with the K.D. Dental College, Mathura and there 11 doctors in attendance. There were also a total of seven specialized health camps in Assam over the past quarter, with two occurring in May with high attendance rates of 81 and 66 patients. The camps were in association with GNRI, Assam, Drishtee’s partner hospital.
The plan is to continue such camps on a monthly basis over the coming year on a variety of topics such as Pregnancy, Pre-natal care, Gynecology, Eye-exams, Nutrition, TB, Malaria, Cataract/Blindness, Polio, HIV-AIDS. These camps will be designed through specific partnerships with key health service providers. The Dristhee Health Team is extremely excited by the success of this first camp in Mathura and the high turn out rate for the camps in Assam.
Over the past couple of months the Drishtee Health Vertical has incorporated two revolutionary new pilots into their product labs. In Assam, Drishtee has moved into the implementation phase of a 3 month pilot with Universal Specs, a Dutch-based company in partnership with Phillips India to develop adjustable eye glasses to low income markets at affordable prices. Drishtee is keen to participate with U-Specs to look at distribution channels that can innovatively market this product in the village. The pilot will involve 8 DHFs – leveraging their presence and expertise to screen patients, collect user feedback, and generate sales.
In the stages of conceptualization is a new offering in the area of micro-insurance. This is an exciting development that has been evolving for the past couple of years in health. In partnership with MicroEnsure, Drishtee aims to begin small with approximately 10 DHFs testing out the response of Drishtee health patients to insurance.
